Open-Source Rive Script Library: six reusable scripts

Six free Rive scripts I shared to the community library I started: electricity, pose blending, tapered strokes, path booleans, a procedural PCB and an SVG renderer.

Client: IVG Design

One thread, reusable scripts for everyone.

What it is

A community library I started on the Rive forum: each submission is a `.rev` holding only the script(s), no design dependencies, with setup steps and a description of every input. Six of the scripts in it are mine; other members have added their own.

My scripts

  • ElectricityEffect (the kick-off): attach to any path for lightning around its outline. `ExtractShapeVerts` (path effect) reads the real path geometry every frame and publishes its vertices through the shared `ShapeVerts` module; `ElectricityEffectDynamic` (node script) draws hugging arcs, random flash arcs between points on the outline and flying sparks. Inputs: colour, dark or light mode, arc frequency and one intensity control (0 to 100).
  • Poser (March 7, 2026): cursor-driven pose blending. Turns pointer position over a hitbox into blend weights for up to six authored pose timelines, with an optional path-shaped hitbox. It has its own page here.
  • TaperedStroke (March 24, 2026): a path effect that turns an open path into a closed, filled envelope with separate left and right thickness, start and end tapers (0 to 100 % of the length), five taper eases, optional round caps and a sample count for tight bends.
  • PathVader (March 27, 2026): boolean path operations (union, intersect, difference, XOR) across any number of shapes. `PathVaderCapture` on each source shape, `PathVaderRenderer` to compute the result, and `PathVaderOutput` to get it back as a native path you can style with gradients, feather and blend modes.
  • Procedural interactive PCB (May 1, 2026): a node script that fills a layout with a parametric circuit-board pattern and reacts to the pointer (down, move, up, exit). It implements measure and resize, so it follows the layout's size; each input's name carries its valid range.
  • SVGRendererLayout (June 26, 2026): a layout script that renders SVG markup held in a ViewModel string. Set to hug, it sizes its layout to the SVG, with a margin and a fixed-height option; the string can change at runtime like any other ViewModel property.

Availability

Free. The `.rev` files and their guides download from the library thread on Rive Community; PathVader, the PCB and Poser also have showcase posts with demos.
