AgAmerica — Growing Tree Website Preloader

AgAmerica Lending / Website preloader / 2021

From roots to crown in four seconds.

My role: Logo animation and Lottie export

Delivered: A 4.2-second preloader as Lottie JSON, in black-on-white and white-on-black versions

Tools: After Effects, Bodymovin (Lottie)

The brief

AgAmerica Lending wanted an animation for its website's loading state: a tree growing from its roots to a full tree in no more than five seconds. The client preferred SVG and would accept a transparent GIF or a PNG sequence.

The build

I animated the tree as vector shapes in After Effects, growing from the roots up and zooming in to finish, and exported it with Bodymovin.

The constraint

The animation had to fit under five seconds and stay vector for the web. I kept it to 4.2 seconds and delivered Lottie JSON instead of a GIF or PNG sequence, so it stays sharp at any size, with light and dark versions for different page backgrounds.

The delivered experience

The final files were delivered on 3 March 2021, two days into the job. The black-on-white version was later published on my portfolio.

Client feedback

"Ilya was a pleasure to work with for my Lottie animation. He came to the table with knowledge and expertise to make the process smooth."
