Levelops / Homepage animation / 2021

Pencil concepts. A homepage Lottie.

My role: Motion graphics and Lottie animation.

Delivered: A 1920 x 1080, 60 fps Lottie animation (about 22 seconds) for the Levelops website, in seven numbered versions (Levelops Insights v1 to v7).

Tools: After Effects, Lottie/Bodymovin.

The brief

Levelops asked for motion graphics for their website based on pencil concept drawings, and wanted someone who could turn rough concepts into finished animation and also contribute strong graphics, not animation alone. The first contract ran from 25 May to 14 June 2021. A short PDF in the project folder describes a graph, the look and feel it should have when clicked, and a label reading "Investigate" in place of "oops...signal detected".

The build

The Lottie in 07_Lottie went through early loop passes (v1, v2, v3 loops) and then Insights v1 to v7. The final file is organised as a logo, a Clients group, a Card, and pulse and blip elements, plus a bar, line and area graph loop I rendered as a preview.

The delivered experience

In August 2021 the same client came back with an urgent update to the live homepage Lottie: replace the logo and make a couple of other changes to the animation featuring Gitlab, Jira and Jenkins. That second contract ran 18 to 19 August; the v7 file is dated 19 August. The animation is attached to this entry as a Lottie file.

Client feedback

"Ilya is super great to work with. Timely delivery, great communication, and great work. Ilya anticipated and proactively fixed some of the gaps before we could find them. That also shows his experience and depth. Can't wait to get him engaged for the next project." Megha Tamvada, Levelops

"Ilya did exactly what the requirement was in a very short amount of time! Will use his service again." Megha Tamvada, Levelops
