MetaWin Whac-a-Mole: Lottie Game Animation

The Whac-a-Mole minigame animation for MetaWin: a mole with expression-driven, rigged arms, animated in After Effects and delivered as Lottie.

Client: MetaWin

MetaWin / Whac-a-Mole / 2026

A mole with rigged arms, delivered as Lottie.

My role: Character animation, Lottie animation

Delivered: The Whac-a-Mole game animation as Lottie

Tools: After Effects (expressions, rigging), Lottie/Bodymovin

The brief

MetaWin needed animation for the minigames on its online casino platform. Each piece had to work as a game asset that its developers drive from game logic. Whac-a-Mole needed its mole as a lightweight Lottie the game can play.

The build

The mole was animated in After Effects with expression-driven, rigged arms and exported to Lottie, with the hammer as a separate animation for the game to place.

The delivered experience

The recording shows the game in play, and the Lottie on this page is the delivered mole. The density of the mole's arm animation is what started my work on a keyframe optimizer for After Effects.

Client feedback

"Working with Ilya is an excellent experience. Fast, reliable and high quality deliverables, always."
