My role: Video editing and motion graphics
Delivered: Edited tutorial videos with animated callouts
Tools: Premiere Pro, After Effects
Patrick Collins had five videos to edit on a tight timeline for a new YouTube channel in the style of Fireship. He supplied raw footage and a script marked up with edit directions, and wanted tight cuts and humor, with room for creative polish.
The scripts call for specific on-screen moments: a dollar sign with a cash-register sound, a $2.2M payout front and center, a circled line in a blockchain explorer, a numbered list over code. I cut the talking-head footage in Premiere Pro and built the animated callouts as After Effects comps linked into the edit.
The work ran from 23 September to 7 October 2022. The first script was a video on a bug-bounty exploit on the Polygon network.
"Fantastic. Really amazing work. There are only a few video editors that I've worked with that I've been so thrilled with. Animations are clean, very communicative to work with, I have nothing but positive things to say."
