OpenReel: Branded Video Templates

One system, many brands.

Branded motion templates for OpenReel's enterprise customers: intros, outros, lower thirds, corner bugs and transitions, built in After Effects and delivered both as rendered previews and as Lottie templates for the OpenReel video platform.

My role: Motion design, template design and Lottie export

Delivered: Template sets for Encore Capital (with its Cabot and MCM brands), AArete, Dartmouth-Hitchcock, FactSet, HCA Healthcare and Q-Centrix: logo intros and outros, lower thirds, transitions and looping backgrounds, with full preview renders

The brief

OpenReel needed each customer's brand turned into a set of reusable motion templates that their teams could drop into videos made on the platform, in each brand's own fonts, colours and logo.

The build

For each brand I designed and animated a matching set in After Effects (logo intro and outro, lower third, transitions, a looping background), then exported the template parts as Lottie files for the platform and rendered full previews of the set. Some sets ship in dark and light versions.

The constraint

The templates had to work as Lottie inside the platform, so each part was rebuilt as a separate, Bodymovin-safe composition using the customer's brand fonts, and narrow-canvas versions of the lower thirds were exported for placement over video.

The delivered experience

The final sets were delivered between 12 October and 3 November 2022. The preview renders below show the Encore Capital, Cabot and MCM sets.
