EntryReady: reel

Work
Rendered 3D animations of EntryReady's hotel door lock, delivered as Lottie files for EntryReady's mobile app and updated over several rounds.
EntryReady / Mobile app / 2022–2025
My role: 3D lock animation, Lottie export
Delivered: Lock animations at 320, 740 and 960 px square with transparent or white backgrounds, and lock-status blink states, all as Lottie
Tools: After Effects, Bodymovin (Lottie)
EntryReady makes door locks and access-control software for hotels, including a Mobile Key app. The team needed animations embedded in the app, starting with a two-day job in November 2022 and continuing with further rounds as the lock and the app changed.
The centrepiece is the lock itself: a rendered 3D lock with its reader light changing state, built as 5.2-second and 3.1-second sequences, with short green and red lock-blink loops. Later rounds added the newer lock model in a dark finish. The logo animation and the status icons were separate jobs for the same app.
The app plays Lottie, and Lottie can't render a 3D model. I rendered the lock as an image sequence and embedded every frame in the Lottie file (155 frames at 30 fps for the long version, 93 for the short one), so the app gets one self-contained file. Embedded frames make the files heavy (up to about 7 MB at 960 px), so I delivered each animation at three sizes, with and without a background.
The Lottie files went into EntryReady's mobile app. Two of them, the 320 px lock animation and the logo animation, were published on my portfolio in January 2023.
"Ilya was a pleasure to work with. He was extremely fast to respond, professional and delivered very high-quality work. We would definitely hire him again."
